- Homogeneous mixtures: Mixtures in which the constituting substances are mixed together completely and are indistinguishable from one another are called homogeneous mixtures. Such mixtures have a homogeneous composition of their substances throughout the solution. Examples: Sugar solution, salt solution
- Heterogeneous mixtures: Heterogeneous mixtures are mixtures in which the constituting substances remain separated and one substance is spread throughout the other substance as small particles, droplets or bubbles. Examples: Starch solution, soap solution
