Question

What is true of palaeonotological evidences?

पर्याय

• oldest rocks contain the simpler animals

• youngest rocks contain the simpler animals

• fossils are preserved in vertical layers of the rock

• fossils show the presence of vestigial organs

Answer 1

Oldest rocks contain the simpler animals

Explanation:

Fossil records generally show simpler forms in older rock layers and more complex forms in younger layers. The youngest rocks do not contain the simplest forms, and fossils are found in successive strata rather than being evidence of vestigial organs.
