उत्तर

The Soviet Union and its satellite republics in Eastern Europe formed the Warsaw Pact in 1955 as a military pact to balance NATO. Romania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Poland, Hungary, and Albania were among its members. Coordinating defences and maintaining Soviet military supremacy over the Eastern Bloc were the goals of the accord. The dissolution of the accord, symbolising the division of Europe during the Cold War, followed the overthrow of the communist regimes in Eastern Europe in 1991.
