उत्तर
The lithosphere is the earth’s outermost solid layer, consisting of the crust and the uppermost part of the mantle. It is rigid and broken into large pieces called tectonic plates. The lithosphere is about 100 km thick on average and is responsible for earth’s surface features such as mountains, oceans, and continents. It is divided into the continental crust, which is thick and less dense, and the oceanic crust, which is thinner and denser.
