Magma Lava
Molten material moving under the earth’s crust is called magma. When magma comes to the surface of the earth, it is known as lava.
Molten rock beneath the Earth’s surface. Molten rock that has erupted onto the Earth’s surface.
Contains dissolved gases and crystals. Loses most gases when it erupts.
Found in magma chambers. Flows over land and cools to form solid rock.
Temperature is generally higher. Slightly cooler after exposure to air.
