These belts are referred to as circum-polar low pressure belts because they are situated between 60° and 70° in each hemisphere. The falling air is split into two sections in the subtropical area. The Equatorial Low Pressure Belt is the direction of one part's blow. It blows in the direction of the Circumpolar Low Pressure Belt. The rise of warm subtropical air above frigid polar air emanating from the poles denotes this zone. The winds that encircle the Polar area blow towards the Equator because of the earth's rotation. The low pressure band in this area is properly named the Circum-polar Low Pressure band due to centrifugal forces at work. Wintertime in this area is characterised by strong storms.
