उत्तर
Genomic refers to the complete set of an organism’s genetic material, including all of its genes and DNA sequences. It encompasses the entirety of an organism’s hereditary information encoded in the DNA. The human genome, for example, contains over 3 billion nucleotide bases, with approximately 30,000 genes. Only a small portion of the genome codes for proteins, while a large part consists of repetitive sequences that help understand chromosome structure and evolution. Genomic studies allow mapping chromosomes, identifying genetic diseases, enabling genetic counselling and gene therapy. This comprehensive genetic information is essential for understanding biological functions and human health.
