- EVM is an abbreviation for Electronic Voting Machine. It is, as the name implies, an electronic machine with buttons against the political parties that are running for office.
- Voters are expected to press the button opposite the party for which they want to vote. They can also press the button opposite 'NOTA,' which stands for None of the above.
- It is a simple method of voting that eliminates the need for paper. It also contributes to faster election results. The results can also be declared more quickly than with the paper-stamp method.
- Voting with EVMs is environmentally friendly for the reasons stated above.
