Working note:

Calculation of Sacrificing Ratio & Revaluation Gain

Sacrificing ratio: Sacrifice = Old Share − New Share

Uma's Sacrifice = `2/5 - 3/10 = (4 - 3)/10 = 1/10`

Uma's Sacrifice = `3/5 - 2/10 = (6 - 2)/10 = 4/10`

Sacrificing ratio = 1 : 4

Net Debtors Adjustment:

New Debtors = 80,000 − 3,000 (Bad Debts) = 77,000

Required Provision (5%) = 5% of 77,000 = 3,850

Total Amount Needed = 3,000 + 3,850 = 6,850

Net Debit to Revaluation = 6,850 − 5,000 (Old Provision) = 1,850
