उत्तर

Given: Sn = 2n2 + 13n

Find Sn – 1:

Sn – 1 = 2(n – 1)2 + 13(n – 1)

Sn – 1 = 2(n2 – 2n + 1) + 13n – 13

Sn – 1 = 2n2 – 4n + 2 + 13n – 13

Sn – 1 = 2n2 + 9n – 11

Calculate an:

an = Sn – Sn – 1

an = (2n2 + 13n) – (2n2 + 9n – 11)

an = 2n2 + 13n – 2n2 – 9n + 11

an = 4n + 11

Find 10th term (a10):

a10 = 4(10) + 11

a10 = 40 + 11

a10 = 51

The nth term is 4n + 11 and the 10th term is 51.
