उत्तर

Let the required height of the pole be ‘x’ m.

Height of pole in m 8 x
Length of shadow in m 6 30

Height of the pole and its shadow are in direct proportion

∴ `(x_1)/(y_1) = (x_2)/(y_2)`

`8/6 = x/30`

x = `(8 xx 30)/6`

x = 40

∴ Height of the pole x = 40 m.
