Tea and coffee estates already have the scale, scenic setting and infrastructure that make them attractive for agri‑tourism and can generate alternative income and local employment, but success requires careful planning (visitor management, marketing, farmer training, revenue sharing and environmental safeguards) to avoid displacement, biosecurity risks and environmental damage.
