उत्तर

The concept chart displays the listed responses to the situation when one faces setbacks. Setbacks that bring unhappiness with them can be processed in two ways – healthy and unhealthy.
It can be seen from the chart that healthy processing helps one learn from failures and let go of the emotions inside by keeping a positive attitude. Failed work can be reassessed to find the likelihood of success in future. On the contrary, unhealthy processing directs toward blocked learning or blocked feeling. Unacceptance of failure may create self-doubt and self-criticism, which can trigger more anger or depression.
It is evident from the chart that responding to setbacks negatively leads to a vicious cycle of undesirable feelings.

Notes

Guidance:

The question tests the following writing LOs:

  • Convey ideas convincingly using appropriate language
  • Organize the content and structure the ideas logically, sequentially, cohesively
  • Use a range of vocabulary and sentence structure appropriate to the content and context
  • Use of functional language to show comparison, contrast, emphasis, conclusion etc.

Award 3 marks for content -

  • Topic sentence identifying the two responses to setbacks in the concept map - ½ mark
    For Instance:
Setbacks often leave one with a feeling of disappointment and sometimes even worse. /The concept chart given below displays two ways to handle setbacks, for the better or for the worse/ the two ways of processing setbacks - healthy and unhealthy.
  • Any 2 points of contrast/ comparison with evidence - 2 marks
    For instance:
Healthy processing helps one learn from and let go of the emotions inside. On the contrary, the inability to process leads to a block, self-criticism and self-doubt.
    Or
An optimistic way of seeing a setback processes the ability to feel, reflect, learn and align. On the other hand, the negative perspective of a failure can lead to listlessness, diverted attention, excessive rumination and unacceptance of failures.
  • Concluding sentence, tied to the content of the topic sentence, showcasing a perspective/ rationalising the importance of healthy processing of setbacks encountered. - ½ mark
For instance, one might want to point to the fact that the responding to setbacks negatively leads to a vicious cycle of undesirable feelings): It is evident that experiencing a setback leads to feelings of inadequacy and incompetency along with an unwillingness to accept situations. Responding to setbacks in a positive way is empowering as it leads to success.

Computer Assisted Language Leaming (CALL) materials come in two main formats: CD/DVD RO Ms and Web-based. Some are tailored to the content to be used in the classrooms whereas others can be used independently. CALL materials allow you to work at your own pace.
Multimedia materials offer you the opportunity to take part in other computer-assisted activities, such as text-based gap-filling, multiple-choice and text reconstruction activities. Language teachers often develop such text-based CALL activities to accompany a particular course. CALL materials can be regularly updated.
Because CALL learning activity types are usually designed from a template, they can sometimes be repetitive.
A major advantage of CALL materials is that they offer instant feedback on your spoken or written performance. However, such feedback can be limited. If you are more interested in creating your own responses or elaborating on your ideas, you may find this type of Facebook frustrating. Web-based CALL materials can offer more variety through the use of hyperlinks, but feedback is still limited.
Just as representations of the cultures of the target language offered by courses using books; audio and videotapes can perpetuate stereotypes.

‘The syrup is filtered, heated and seeded with tiny sugar crystals, which grow into the required size. The sugar crystals are then washed, dried and cooled. Sugar is delivered to our customers in a variety of formats for both industrial and retail markets.
