उत्तर १

  1. Simple division of labour: When a person (or worker) specialises in the production of a particular commodity or service, it is called a product-based division of labour. It is also known as a simple (or occupational) division of labour. In traditional economies, a worker is specialised in producing a single commodity. This is the division of labour by profession.
Examples: Farmers, carpenters, blacksmiths, cobblers or washermen. In skilled professions also, we find specialisation. One specialises as a doctor, another as a lawyer, another as a teacher and so on.
  2. Complex division of labour: This occurs when different parts of a production process are entrusted to different groups of workers. In an automobile factory, one group may be concerned with the manufacture of the engine, another may be engaged in the manufacture of chassis, and a few others may be engaged in fitting the wheels, etc.
Example: The work of spinning, weaving, sizing, bleaching, etc., is done by different processes and by different workers so that the finished cloth is finally made for use.

Division of labour is called simple when two or more men working on the same task co-operate to perform single task which is difficult to be carried out effectively by one man alone.
