2x + y = 9
Put x = 0
2(0) + y = 9
y = 9
Put x = `9/2`
`2(9/2) + y = 9`
9 + y = 9
y = 0
| x | 0 | `9/2` |
| y | 9 | 0 |
x – 2y = 2
Put x = 0
0 – 2y = 2
y = `-2/2`
y = 1
Put x = 2
2 – 2y = 2
y = 0
| x | 0 | 2 |
| y | –1 | 0 |
∴ Intersection point P(4, 1)
Hence, x = 4 and y = 1.
