उत्तर
Given equation is x2 − 5x − 10 = 0
On comparing with ax2 + bx + c = 0
a = 1, b = −5, c = −10
∵ x = `(-b ± sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/(2a)`
∴ x = `(5 ± sqrt(25 + 40))/(2)`
x = `(5 ± sqrt(65))/(2)`
= `(5 ± 8·06)/(2)`
x = `(5 + 8·06)/(2)`
= `(13·06)/(2)`
= 6·53
and x = `(5 - 8·06)/(2)`
= `(-3·06)/(2)`
= −1·53
x = 6·53, x = −1·53
