उत्तर
Britain and France followed a policy of appeasement towards dictatorial countries like Germany and Italy. The former felt that the injustices of the Treaty of Versailles made Germany hostile. Once her grievances were taken care, she along with Italy would remain peaceful. As communism was spreading, France and Italy allowed Germany to remilitarise the Rhineland and capture Austria and Czechoslovakia. This policy of appeasement was one of the major reasons which led to the Second World War.
