Working Notes:

1. Net Assets:

Assets = ₹ 3,00,000 + ₹ 1,00,000 + ₹ 2,00,000 + ₹ 1,00,000
= ₹ 7,00,000

Less: Liabilities = ₹ 80,000

Net Assets = ₹ 6,20,000

Purchase Consideration = ₹ 6,00,000

Capital Reserve = ₹ 6,20,000 − ₹ 6,00,000 = ₹ 20,000

2. Payment by Cheque:

₹ 6,00,000 × 10% = ₹ 60,000

Balance payable by Debentures = ₹ 6,00,000 − ₹ 60,000 = ₹ 5,40,000

Issue price of each Debenture = ₹ 100 + 20% = ₹ 120

Number of Debentures = ₹ 5,40,000 ÷ ₹ 120 = 4,500 Debentures

Face value = 4,500 × ₹ 100 = ₹ 4,50,000

Securities Premium = 4,500 × ₹ 20 = ₹ 90,000
