The process of planning is continuous. Forecasts serve as the foundation for the creation of plans. The initial plan needs to be updated in light of evolving circumstances when future projections prove to be inaccurate. For instance, let’s say a company plans to sell 5,000 motorcycles in a specific area in 2002–2003. The original plan cannot be carried out because of the flooding in that location. The company will need to adjust its strategy and get ready to hit the sales goal in another region. Planning is therefore an ongoing process.
