Question

On what basis are individuals chosen in artificial selection?

पर्याय

• Natural differences between species and sub-species

• Better adaptation for survival and reproduction

• Ability to eliminate the less adapted members of the population

• Human interests and advantageous phenotypic characters

Answer 1

Artificial selection is guided by human interests and advantageous phenotypic characters. Breeders select traits they find valuable rather than traits that aid survival in nature, which is the criterion of natural selection.
