The official seal of our country is the State Emblem of India. It is adapted from the Lion Capital of Ashoka at Sarnath.
- It has four lions, though only three are visible in the emblem.
- Below the lions is a Dharma Chakra (Ashoka Chakra).
- A horse and a bull are shown on either side of the Chakra.
- The words “Satyameva Jayate” are written below it, meaning “Truth Alone Triumphs.”
- The emblem represents power, courage, confidence and truth.
