उत्तर
- Chennai’s main rainy season occurs later (around October - November) it receives significant rainfall from the retreating/northeast monsoon - whereas the other cities get most rain during the southwest monsoon (roughly June–September). This difference is due to the Bay of Bengal/retreating monsoon affecting the southeast coast.
- Both Delhi and Kolkata show temperatures that rise gradually from January to May and then fall gradually from August to November.
- Average maximum and minimum temperature ranges (from the graphs)
- Delhi: about 6°C (min) to 41°C (max).
- Kolkata: about 9°C to 37°C.
- Mumbai: about 16°C to 34°C.
- Chennai: about 21°C to 39°C.
- Chennai has the smallest range (most equable temperatures). This indicates an equable (maritime‑influenced) climate with smaller seasonal variation.
- Delhi has the largest temperature range (i.e., the most extreme). This reflects a more continental climate with greater seasonal extremes.
- Mumbai’s temperatures are moderately warm year‑round (approx. 16°C - 34°C), and it receives heavy monsoon rainfall (very high values in June - July). On that basis, Mumbai is described as hot and humid with a strong southwest monsoon.
