प्रश्न
Mrs. Krishna bought a colour television (CTV) against six months warranty. The CTV stopped working after three months. When she complained to the dealer/shop where it was purchased, they sent an engineer to set it right. The CTV continues to give trouble and Mrs Krishna no longer gets any reply to the complaint she made to the dealer/shop. She decides to write to the Consumer Commission in her area. Write a letter on her behalf. You may discuss with your partner/group members before you write it.

Subject: Complaint against defective television under warranty.
Respected Sir/Madam,
I am writing to bring to your attention a case of unfair trade practices and bad service by Shiv Electronics in New Delhi.
The details of my complaint are as follows:
- Purchase Details: I purchased a colour television from Shree Electronics on March 12, 2026. The product came with a six-month warranty.
- The Problem: The television ceased operating properly after only three months of ownership, well within the guarantee term.
- Lack of Action: After I complained to the seller, they dispatched an engineer to address the problem. However, the television continues to cause frequent issues. I’ve contacted the seller several times since then, but they have completely ignored my complaints and refused to respond.
Since the seller is not honouring the guarantee, I would appreciate it if you could register my complaint against them. I’d like to request your assistance in obtaining either a complete replacement of the television or a full refund of my money.
I have attached copies of the purchase bill and the warranty card with this letter for your reference.
Thank you.
