Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to highlight a growing concern regarding the physical well-being of children living in modern high-rise complexes.

With urban spaces becoming increasingly congested, most multi-storeyed buildings offer very limited open ground. This lack of space has effectively forced children to stay indoors, leading to a dangerous rise in screen addiction. Deprived of physical outlets, children are falling prey to sedentary habits, poor concentration, and unhealthy eating patterns, which are detrimental to their long-term development.

To address this, there is an urgent need for the government and private developers to invest in community centers equipped with indoor sporting facilities. Providing space for activities like table tennis, badminton, or indoor gymnasiums would offer children a safe, weather-proof, and comfortable environment to stay active.

Beyond physical health, such centers would serve as vital social hubs, fostering a sense of community and discipline. It is time we prioritize dedicated recreational infrastructure to ensure our future generation leads a balanced and healthy life.
