Different parts of the pituitary secrete different hormones. Hormones secreted by the anterior lobe of the pituitary are:
- Follicle stimulating hormone
- Luteinizing hormone
- Thyroid stimulating hormone
- Somatotrophic or Growth hormone
- Adrenocorticotrophic hormone
- Prolactin hormone or Luteotrophic hormone.
Middle (intermediate) lobe of pituitary:
- Vasopressin or antidiuretic hormone
- Oxytocin
