\[ = \lim_{x \to 0} \left[ \frac{\left( 8^x - 1 \right)}{x} - \frac{\left( 2^x - 1 \right)}{x} \right]\]
\[ = \log \left( 8 \right) - \log \left( 2 \right)\]
\[ = \log \left( \frac{8}{2} \right)\]
\[ = \log 4\]
