Note that the interview of the Sports Captain is informal, and that of the Sports Coach is formal.

Work in pairs. One of you can be the interviewer and the other the interviewee in the informal interview. Interchange your role for the formal one.

Informal Interview:

Interviewer:	Hello! I’m so glad that you agreed to meet me for this interview. Tell me about yourself and your love for sports.
Sports Captain:	Thank you! I have always enjoyed playing sports, especially football and athletics. Sports keep me active and teach me discipline and teamwork.
Interviewer:	Did you face any challenges? How did you deal with them?
Sports Captain:	Yes, I sometimes struggled to balance studies and sports practice. I managed this by making a proper timetable and using my time wisely.
Interviewer:	What are some impressive achievements you’ve had? How do you feel about them?
Sports Captain:	I have represented my school in inter-school competitions and helped my team win a few matches. I feel proud and grateful for the support I received from my teachers and teammates.
Interviewer:	What would you like to say to your peers or juniors who are interested in sports?
Sports Captain:	I would tell them to practise regularly, stay disciplined and never be afraid of failure. Most importantly, they should enjoy the sport they play.

Formal Interview:

Interviewer:	Good morning, it is my privilege to get this opportunity to have this interaction with you. Could you tell me how your journey in sports began?
Sports Coach:	Good morning. My journey began when I was a student. I participated in several school and college competitions and gradually developed a passion for coaching young athletes.
Interviewer:	Could you share something about the challenges you faced and how you overcame them?
Sports Coach:	One major challenge was maintaining consistency during difficult times. I overcame it through regular practice, patience and guidance from experienced coaches.
Interviewer:	You’ve received many accolades. What do these accomplishments mean to you?
Sports Coach:	They are a source of satisfaction, but I consider the progress and confidence of my students to be my greatest achievement.
Interviewer:	What advice do you have for aspiring athletes?
Sports Coach:	I would advise them to remain disciplined, practise regularly, respect their teammates and learn from both success and failure. With dedication and perseverance, they can achieve their goals.
