The Magical Book
One afternoon, while exploring the school library, I noticed an old book lying on a dusty shelf. Its cover was golden, and the title read, “Journey Through Time.” Curious, I opened it. Suddenly, a bright light surrounded me, and I felt as if I were being pulled into the pages.
When I opened my eyes, I found myself in a village from the past. There were no cars, mobile phones, or tall buildings. People travelled in bullock carts, fetched water from wells, and worked together in the fields. Children studied under the shade of trees and wrote on slates.
A kind family welcomed me into their home and shared their simple meal with me. I noticed that people helped one another and spent more time talking with their families and neighbours. Life was difficult in many ways, but there was a strong sense of togetherness.
As the sun began to set, the magical book appeared in my hands again. I opened it and, in a flash, I was back in the library.
This wonderful journey taught me that progress and technology are useful, but kindness, cooperation, and gratitude are equally important. I realised that true happiness does not depend only on modern comforts but also on the way we care for one another.
