Imagine that you are the village head. In that capacity, suggest some activities that you think should be taken up under this Act that would also increase the income of people? Discuss.

In my view, from the position of village head, the following activities should be included under this act, which will increase the income of the people-

1. Deepening village ponds, desilting existing reservoirs, and building check dams will replenish groundwater levels, allowing farmers to plant two to three harvests per year rather than relying exclusively on rainfall.
2. To increase milk yields and dairy profits, small farmers and women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are constructing permanent, sanitary concrete shelters for their livestock.
3. Converting newly desilted communal ponds into active fish farms provides an entirely new and consistent source of income for landless labourers.
4. Planting fruit-bearing plants (such as mango, guava, and lemon) on degraded community grounds along road ridges results in immediate labour wages and long-term income from fruit harvests.
5. Building long-lasting brick or concrete internal roads to connect isolated farms directly to major market highways significantly lowers transportation costs and reduces spoilage.
6. Building elevated concrete platforms and rudimentary storage structures to allow farmers to properly dry, sort, and store their grains and vegetables until market prices increase.
