उत्तर
intercalary meristem
Intercalary meristem is present at the base of internodes or at the base of nodes and at the base of leaves. This meristem brings about elongation (growth in length) of the part of the plant in which it is present. So even if the tip of the sugarcane plant is removed i.e. apical meristem is removed, it keeps on growing in length due to the activity of intercalary meristem.
