Hydrogen : Oxygen = 1 : 8

1g of hydrogen requires 8g of oxygen.

So, the mass of oxygen gas required to completely combine with 3g of hydrogen gas is

Oxygen = (8 × 3)g

= 24g

A mass of 24g of oxygen gas will be required to completely combine with 3g of hydrogen gas.
