उत्तर

The Directive Principles are divided into three broad categories:

  1. Socialistic and Economic Directives: The directives instruct the state to promote welfare, fair distribution of wealth, minimum wages, social security and equal opportunity
  2. Gandhian Directives: These focus on village self‑government, cottage industries, prohibition of intoxicants, cow protection, and upliftment of weaker sections.
  3. General Directives: These directives cover matters such as a uniform civil code, the protection of the environment and cultural monuments, international peace, and free legal aid.

These principles are guidelines for policymaking and not enforceable by courts, but they guide lawmaking to create a welfare state across the country.
