How is the Environmental Protection Act enforced?

At both the national and state levels in India, a variety of policies and procedures are used to enforce the Environmental Protection Act (EPA). There are two of them:

1. Monitoring and compliance: The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs) are responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with EPA regulations. To make sure that environmental rules and laws are being followed, they regularly check and audit companies and other sources of pollution.
2. Penalising polluters: The EPA imposes fines, jail time, and other penalties for breaking its rules. Polluters who violate environmental norms and laws may be subject to fines and penalties from the CPCB and SPCBs.
