उत्तर
At first, hydrogen was referred to as an "inflammable gas." It burned in the atmosphere, creating water. Lavoisier gave it the name "hydrogen," which means "water producer," in 1783. [Greek word Hydro = water, gen = producer]
Hydrogen occurs in the combined state:
- Compounds containing hydrogen, along with carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen, make up plant and animal tissues.
- Hydrogen makes up around one-ninth of the mass of water.
- as an ingredient in various substances, such as organic compounds, petroleum products, acids, and alkalis.
