Froth flotation is based on the preferential wetting of sulphide ore particles by oil and gangue particles by water. The sulphide ore particles attach to the froth and are separated from the gangue.
Examples:
- Zinc blende (ZnS)
- Galena (PbS)
- Copper pyrites (CuFeS2)
