1. Converging boundary: formed when two plates move towards each other. For example, the movement of the Indian Plate into the Eurasian Plate forming the Himalayas is due to convergent boundaries.
2. Diverging boundary: formed when two plates move away from each other. An example is the movement at the Mid-Oceanic Ridge under the sea.
3. Transform boundary: formed when two plates slide against each other.
