The burnt out fuse should be replaced by another fuse of identical rating.

Reusing a burned-out fuse is not possible. A fuse wire's lower melting point is another reason it functions. The fuse wire won't melt if a fuse with a higher rating is used with an appliance, which would prevent it from fulfilling its intended function. For electrical safety, a new fuse with the same rating should be used.
