उत्तर १
- Distribution of industries depends upon various physical factors like climate, raw material, water and power supply, labour, transportation, land, etc., and economic factors like capital, market and government policies.
- Physical and economic factors vary from region to region, and political factors differ from country to country. Industries are developed where physical and economic factors are favourable for their development, thus, the distribution of industries is uneven.
- For example, in India, industries are concentrated in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Chota Nagpur region and in the rest of India, agriculture is the only major economic activity.
उत्तर २
- The factors affecting industrial location are not the same everywhere.
- Industries tend to concentrate in a few pockets because of earlier mentioned favourable factors. The pockets having high concentration of industries are known as ‘industrial regions’.
- Major Industrial regions of the world are those areas, where concentration of industries has occurred due to favourable geo– economic conditions.
- These are the areas within which manufacturing industry is carried out on a relatively large scale employing large proportion of working population.
- Some of the characteristic features of industrial regions are agglomeration of industries, dense population growth, large labour force, employment to large working populations.
- Large banking and credit facilities, large network of transportation, excellent communication facilities also affect industrial location.
- Hence, distribution of industries is uneven.
