उत्तर

Akbar’s reign was a golden age for literature marked by strong imperial patronage, a flourishing of Persian prose and poetry, and a lively interaction between Persian and Indian literary traditions; the court’s language was Persian and Akbar though personally illiterate maintained a vast library and set up a translation department that encouraged the rendering of Sanskrit, Arabic and other works into Persian, thereby broadening access to indigenous learning. Prominent figures included the brothers Faizi (poet-laureate) and Abul Fazl (scholar and historian); Abul Fazl produced the monumental Akbarnama and the Ain-i-Akbari (an administrative and cultural account of the reign), while Faizi’s poetic collections exemplified the refined courtly style. At the same time, Akbar’s patronage helped sustain vernacular traditions: Hindi bhakti poetry grew under poets such as Tulsidas and Surdas, whose Ramcharitmanas, Vinaya Patrika and Sur Sagar became widely influential.
