उत्तर

Given: Points A(–5, –1) and B(0, 4).

Use the distance formula `d = sqrt((x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2 - y_1)^2`.

x1 = –5, y1 = –1

x2 = 0, y2 = 4

Δx = x2 – x1

= 0 – (–5)

= 5

Δy = y2 – y1

= 4 – (–1)

= 5

`d = sqrt(Δx^2 + Δy^2)`

= `sqrt(5^2 + 5^2)`

= `sqrt(25 + 25)`

= `sqrt(50)`

= `5sqrt(2) ≈ 7.071`

The distance AB = `5sqrt(2)` (approximately 7.071).
