उत्तर

Given: A(4, 5), B(–2, 5)

Step-wise calculation:

1. Use the distance formula:

Distance = `sqrt((x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2 - y_1)^2`

2. Let (x1, y1) = (4, 5) and (x2, y2) = (–2, 5).

3. x2 – x1 = –2 – 4

= –6

`(x_2 - x_1)^2 = (-6)^2`

= 36

4. y2 – y1 = 5 – 5

= 0

`(y_2 - y_1)^2 = 0^2`

= 0

5. Distance = `sqrt(36 + 0)`

= `sqrt(36)`

= 6

The distance between A(4, 5) and B(–2, 5) is 6 units.
