उत्तर

  1. In India, as in Vietnam and many other colonies, the growth of modern nationalism is intimately linked to the Anti-colonial Movement. People began to realize their unity during their struggle against colonialism. The sense of oppression under colonialism created a common thread that united many different communities.
  2. The European powers saw their civilization as more civilized, sophisticated, and superior. They began forcefully imposing their culture on the colonists. This heightened the sense of nationalism.
  3. Gandhiji employed ‘Satyagraha’ against the British. This also encouraged a sense of nationalism among the people.
  4. The anti-colonial movement was a popular resistance against foreigners. The united struggle was responsible for arousing the spirit of nationalism.
