उत्तर
The Two-Factor Theory of Intelligence was proposed by Charles Spearman in 1904. It is one of the earliest and most influential theories that tried to explain the structure of human intelligence.
- General Intelligence (g factor):
- This is a common factor that influences performance in all types of mental tasks.
- It reflects a person’s overall intellectual ability, their capacity to reason, solve problems, and learn.
- If someone performs well in one subject, they are likely to perform well in others because of a strong g factor.
- Specific Intelligence (s factor):
- These are abilities specific to certain tasks or subjects.
- For example, a person may be good at mathematics (high s for math) but not so strong in language (low s for language).
- The s factor explains why a person might do better in one area than another.
