उत्तर

The process of cloud formation occurs through condensation of water vapor in the atmosphere. It begins with warm, moist air near the ground rising upwards. As the air rises, the temperature decreases because air cools with altitude. When the rising air cools below the dew point temperature, it becomes saturated, meaning it cannot hold all the water vapor it contains.

At this point, the excess water vapor condenses into tiny droplets of water. This condensation requires the presence of tiny particles such as dust, salt, or smoke in the air, known as condensation nuclei, on which water vapor can condense. Without these particles, condensation does not take place.

The small water droplets formed in this way remain suspended in the air and appear as clouds. As more moisture condenses, the cloud becomes saturated, reaching 100% relative humidity. When the cloud can no longer hold more water, the moisture falls to the ground as precipitation (rain).
