Casteism refers to loyalty to one’s own caste before loyalty to the nation. This may lead to the caste members protecting their own caste group through social service, education, medical and other welfare schemes etc. which leads to several problems.
Example: Members belonging to one particular caste unite against the members of another caste, presenting a challenge to national integration.
