उत्तर
Rotter's Social Learning Theory explains that the likelihood of a behavior occurring in a particular situation depends on two main factors: the individual’s expectations about the outcome of the behavior and the value they place on that outcome. Simply put, the repetition of a behavior is influenced by how rewarding it is perceived to be. If one outcome is seen as more rewarding than another, it is more likely to reinforce the behavior more effectively.
- Locus of Control:
- Internal Locus of Control: People with this mindset believe they have control over their actions and outcomes. They feel that success or failure is a result of their own efforts.
- External Locus of Control: People with this mindset believe that external factors (like luck or other people) control the outcomes of their actions.
- Expectancy Theory:
- Rotter proposed that people’s behaviors are influenced by their expectations of reinforcement. If they expect a positive outcome, they are more likely to engage in a behavior.
- Reinforcements can be both positive (rewards) or negative (punishments), influencing future behaviors.
- Reinforcement Value: Rotter also introduced the idea that the value of reinforcement varies from person to person. What one individual finds rewarding or reinforcing may not be the same for another.
