The following are the types of services used in volleyball:

1. Underhand service: The underhand serve is a good serve for beginners to use. It is simply another way of getting the ball over the net, where the server will hold the ball and swing their other arm underneath the ball to hit it.
2. Topspin service: Topspin is an overhand serve in which the player tosses the ball high and then hits it with a wrist span, providing it topspin which makes it to drop quicker than it would otherwise and assists in maintaining a straight flight track. Topspin serves are usually hit hard and aimed at a particular returner or part of the court. Standing topspin serves are rarely applied above the high school level of play.
3. Jump serve: The ball is first tossed high in the air, then the player makes a timed approach and jumps to make contact with the ball, hitting it with much pace. 
4. Overhand Serve: The ball is hit with one hand above the head after tossing it in the air. It is more powerful and accurate than the underhand serve.
