Two Causes of Poverty in India:

1. Fast Population Growth: India’s population has risen at a rate of 2.2% per year which means on an average, about to 17 million people are added to country population every year. This puts heavy pressure on country’s limited resources. 
2. Low Productivity in Agriculture: A major reason for poverty in India is the low productivity in the agriculture sector.
