उत्तर
These elements have a valence shell electronic arrangement of the ns2np3 type. As a result, their valence shells contain five electrons, two in the s-subshell and three in the p-subshell. The p-subshell has three unpaired electrons. As a result, every element has a partially filled np-subshell.
