उत्तर

  1. Actinoids predominantly show a +3 oxidation state, but also exhibit +2, +4, +5, +6, and +7 states.
  2. They form coloured ions; for example, U4+ is green, and U3+ is red.
  3. Their ionic radii decrease regularly across the series, called actinoid contraction.
  4. Actinoids are highly electropositive and reactive, combining easily with hydrogen, oxygen, halogens, and acids.
  5. Many actinoid ions are paramagnetic.
  6. They form complexes more readily than lanthanoids, including with π-bonding ligands.
  7. Several actinoids have oxocations like \[\ce{UO^{2+}_2}\] and \[\ce{NpO^+_2}\].
  8. All actinoids are radioactive and generally have high densities and melting points.
